After 4 years' experience (customer feedback and veterinary opinions), we know that our anti-UV eye masks for horses are the most effective on the market. As you can see from the photo above, the fabric used is micro-perforated (each hole measures 0.5mm x 0.5mm), providing the optimum combination of blackout and transparency needed to keep horses safe on the move. It is also water-repellent, protecting against wind and dust.
Comparison with classic canvas
These 2 photos show the difference between the classic canvas used for masks found in tack shops or on the Internet, and the canvas used for equidiva horse masks. The photo above shows the canvas used to make classic masks, with holes measuring between 1.5mm and 2mm. This difference in perforation explains the effectiveness of our products. Uveitis is becoming increasingly common in horses. Its causes are diverse, but if it recurs frequently, uveitis is accompanied by severe pain that can even affect the horse's behavior. Repeated attacks can also eventually lead to loss of vision in the affected eye. In addition to the treatment and care prescribed by your veterinarian, permanent protection of the weakened eye is vital, and requires the use of anti-UV eye protection.
To protect your horse's eyes as effectively as possible, we offer rigid protection designed for working horses (goggles or masks), which are very well tolerated because they are comfortable for the horse. For these masks, the main measurement is that of your horse's forehead. To do this, add up 3 measurements:
