Plants to reduce headshaking in horses

EquiExpert® HeadShaking is a blend of plants selected for their calming properties on headshaking syndrome in horses. Headshaking can be caused by a number of factors: allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, neurological problems, fungal diseases, bone changes, stress...

EquiExpert® HeadShaking cheval is specially designed to limit allergic reactions and irritation of the upper respiratory tract, relieve joint pain caused by repeated movements and relax the horse.

Action on the horse's respiratory system

Plantain is anti-bacterial, anti-spasmodic and antitussive. Licorice is antitussive and expectorant. Thyme is spasmolytic and eucalyptus is mucolytic and expectorant.

Action on behavior and stress

Passionflower is active in anxious horses. Hawthorn is anxiolytic, hence its use in nervous and stressed horses.

Mineral-modulating action

Horsetail and bamboo are very rich in silica (up to 80%). Horsetail increases bone density and reduces plasma levels of bone resorption markers.

Our partner EquiExpert horse

EquiExpert is a family business made up of pharmacists, professional riders, equine osteopaths and breeders.

The EquiExpert range of plants and plant blends (developed in France) is controlled and packaged in France.

In the majority of supplementary feeds for horses, pellets are produced under high temperatures and pressures, which is detrimental to pellet quality. The EquiExpert range offers a different manufacturing technique: cold granulation. Throughout the pellet production chain, ingredients are not subjected to temperatures above 40°C, which is essential for heat-sensitive raw materials such as pro-biotics, vitamins, etc.

Another guarantee of effectiveness: separate granulation, to guarantee better efficacy of the active ingredients and avoid any interactions between ingredients.

Finally, EquiExpert Soins uses top-quality active ingredients, also used in the pharmaceutical industry, with enhanced bioavailability.

Product palatability:
EquiExpert pre-tests its products on horses and ponies to ensure the best possible palatability. However, it is always possible that a horse may need several days to adapt to the taste and smell of a product. We recommend either gradually incorporating it into the ration, or adding powdered sugar, powdered cinnamon or applesauce to the ration.

Recycling:
The PP pots used by EquiExpert Soins can be recycled in the yellow garbage cans.

What size should I choose for my equidiva mask/cap?
All measurements are approximate and for guidance only.

Premium mask size guide

Using a tape measure (or string, which you can measure later), go around your horse's head as shown in the photo:

Mask size Head circumference
XS - Shetland 84 cm
S - Pony 90 cm
M - Cob 94 cm
L - Full 100 cm
XL - XFull 110 cm
If your horse's head measurement is between 2 sizes, we recommend taking the nearest larger size.

Size guide - Equivizor masks (Light, Arso, Convalescence models)

For these masks, the main measurement is that of your horse's forehead. To do this, add up 3 measurements:

  1. start at the outer corner of one eye and measure upwards at a slight angle to the middle of the forehead (measurement A),
  2. continue along your horse's forehead (measure B),
  3. finish the measurement by pointing the line slightly downwards to the outer corner of the other eye (measurement C). In this way, you measure the widest part of your horse's forehead.

Add these 3 measurements (A+B+C) to obtain the size of your horse's forehead.

IMPORTANT: do not measure directly from one eye to the other, as this will probably give a measurement that is too small.
