eVysor, safety goggles for climbing, which visor, which shade, which protection?

eVysor goggles are designed for working horses. They are particularly recommended to protect the eyes of horses suffering from ophthalmic or photosensitive pathologies. All lenses are anti-UV treated, although there are differences between the visors offered. 

The different eVysor filter categories

Visors are available in several filter categories, i.e. levels of light transmission and therefore tint density, ranging from index 0 to index 3.

Category 0 corresponds to a light transmission of over 80%, i.e. almost transparent glass.

The higher the category index, the lower the light transmission. For example, for our sunglasses, category 3 is the most widely used (between 8 and 20% light transmission).
For humans, there is a category 4 reserved for use on the high seas or in the mountains, and prohibited for driving (3 to 8% transmission).

Which shade of eVysor visor should I choose for my horse?

With the exception of transparent visors, all visors are gray! More or less dark, but gray. The mirrored (or flash) coating applied to the front of the lens provides protection against scratches (and lets you see the lens' protection rating at a glance).

The choice of tint depends on the discipline practiced with your horse and its sensitivity to light.

• If you're jumping in competitions (CSO, CCE...), be aware that eye protection is not authorized. If your horse is not photosensitive, work with clear lenses, so he'll be in the same condition whatever the weather, in training and on the day of the show.
• More of a walker? All shades are permitted. Just remember to slow down when you go from full sun to undergrowth. When we enter a tunnel, we too need to adapt to the half-light. Bear in mind that this adaptation takes a little longer for your steed, even if he can see much better than we can in the dark!
• Do you work mainly in a white arena? Does your horse suffer from headshaking? suffers from headshakingIt's best to use a tinted visor. Our recommendation is the dark visor. Even if the index is 3, it's still perfectly usable, even in slightly overcast weather.
